The purpose of Petaluma Celebrate Recovery is to fellowship and celebrate God´s healing power in our lives through the 8 Recovery Principles and Christ-Centered 12 steps. This experience allows us to be changed. We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God´s grace in solving our lives´ problems. By working and applying these Biblical principles and steps, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our compulsive, addictive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power Jesus Christ, the one and only true Higher Power.
Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace.
Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will,
That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Your will not mine be done in and through me this day.
Amen
Celebrate Recovery Group Guidelines
1.Keep your sharing focused on your own thoughts and feelings. Limit your sharing to three to five minutes.
~
2.There will be NO cross talk. Cross talk is when two individuals engage in conversation excluding all others. Each person is free to express his or her feelings without interruptions.
~
3.We are here to support one another, not “fix” one another.
~
4.Anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. What is shared in the group stays in the group. The only exception is when someone threatens to injure themselves or others.
~
5.Offensive language has no place in a Christ-centered recovery group.
